Celebrate WA Seniors Week in Mandurah with free activities

The City is celebrating WA Seniors Week with a range of fun, free activities starting this Sunday, November 7 at the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre.

WA Seniors Week (November 7-14) provides the perfect chance to celebrate Mandurah’s seniors community, which includes more than 28,500 people over the age of 55, which is more than 35 percent of Mandurah residents.

All seniors are encouraged to get involved in the Seniors Week line up. The week includes:

  • Sunday, November 7 – Makers Market, 9am-1pm. Beautiful handmade items for sale, created by the Centre’s talented members. Special guest artists ‘Tiny Shop on Wheels’ and entertainment provided throughout the day.
  • Tuesday, November 9 – Cuppa Conversations, 10 – 11am. Special guest speaker is Paddi Creevey OAM.
  • Wednesday, November 10 – Seniors Week Concert “Three Sixties Legends” with Eddie Storm, Kelly Green and George Boyer. 1.15pm – 3pm.
  • Thursday, November 11 – Mega Bingo. Doors open at 12noon, eyes down at 12.45pm – 3pm. Cost is $2 for 20 games with great prizes up for grabs.
  • Friday, November 12 – ‘Celebrate Seniors’ Expo 10am – 2pm. Find out what’s in the area for seniors, including activities to keep people active and connected to the community.
  • ‘Come and Try’ sessions will be held throughout the week including free sessions of yoga, jazz dancing, Zumba and line dancing. Check the City’s website or call the Centre for details. Limited places available, bookings required.

Head along to the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre to enjoy a range of delicious meals at the cafe, and with more than 40 activities on the Centre’s weekly timetable, discover what the Centre’s 2,200 plus members come for.
