The City of Rockingham’s Council meetings are now being live streamed.

Community members can now tune into the meetings from anywhere in the world.

Audio recordings of Council meetings have been available since August 2020.

Recently preparations and updates to the technology in Council Chambers were made by the City to facilitate livestreaming.

City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said the arrival of livestreaming was an important part of delivering quality leadership and good governance.

“The City of Rockingham Council is committed to delivering effective governance and transparency to the community,” Mayor Hamblin said.

“The delivery of livestreaming is an exciting step that will allow more people to observe and become involved in the democratic process of local government.

“The Minister for Local Government recently indicated that the State would like to see Councils across Western Australia implement livestreaming, and the City is pleased to have delivered it.”
