The free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events are set to return in 2021/2022.

The Summer Series runs from November 2021 to the end of March 2022 and provides an opportunity for the Rockingham community to engage and connect with fun, free activities at the City’s foreshore reserves and parks throughout the warmer months of the year.

Six major annual events are a key part of the Summer Series and they include the City’s Christmas Festival, New Year’s Eve celebrations, Australia Day event at the foreshore, and also Symphony on the Green, the Multicultural Food Festival and Performance in the Park – Cinderella at the Village Green.

A major highlight will be Eskimo Joe headlining the City’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. Fireworks will take place at both the New Year and Australia Day celebrations. The Perth Symphony Orchestra will entertain at Symphony on the Green, and more than 30 food vans will take over the Village Green for the Multicultural Food Festival. The Summer Series concludes with an on-stage performance of Cinderella at the Village Green as part of Performance in the Park.

Other Summer Series favourites such as weekly tai chi, yoga and Zumba classes will continue at the foreshore, while the City will also host several Soulful Sundays, public art tours, pop-up entertainment and outdoor cinema events.

“The City’s Summer Series has evolved into a hugely popular annual program that provides community members with a chance to enjoy a number of events and activities in a family-friendly environment,” City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin said.

“We are just weeks away from the City’s Christmas Festival, and following that we are thrilled to be hosting WA rock band Eskimo Joe, who will be performing a number of their hits live at the Rockingham Foreshore.

“Summer Series events are catered for a variety of different tastes, so whatever your age or background, there is truly something for everyone.”
