A South West resort employee has been charged after allegedly using guests credit card details to purchase items and accessing the retreat's eftpos machine to refund money into her own bank account.

The 38-year-old woman, who was employed as a receptionist at the eco-resort on Hemsley Road in Naturaliste, allegedly committed the offences between August 2023 and March 2024.

"The accused unlawfully obtained details from several credit cards linked guests who stayed at the resort," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"The card details were used to make numerous purchases, totalling $3486.

"The accused further attempted to purchase goods in excess off $5,000, however these transactions were immediately flagged as fraudulent."

The woman is also accused of gaining access to the business eftpos machine 13 times, refunding $14,151 to her bank account.

Dunsborough Police conducted a search warrant at her home in Yallingup on Wednesday where she was arrested and charged with 32 fraud offences.

She is due to appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court on May 7, 2024.

Inquiries are ongoing and police urge anyone who believes they have been a victim of fraud related crime to report in person to their local police station or online via the ReportCyber wesbite.
