A storm has left a trail of destruction through the Great Southern overnight.

The State Emergency Service (SES) has received over 113 calls for help since 6pm on Sunday, mostly from residents in Albany and Denmark.

Albany received nearly 55mm of rain in 24 hours with the Albany Airport recording a wind gust of 96km/h.

SES volunteers from Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker and Gnowangerup along with local bush fire brigades have been attending to calls-outs involving roof damage, flooding and fallen power lines and trees.

Several roads are closed and motorists are being urged to be extra vigilant while driving.
