Bayley Fritsch booted six goals as Christian Petracca racked up 39 disposals and kicked two goals to claim the Norm Smith Medal.
Melbourne captain Max Gawn summed up the Demons elation.
"For this group of special people to my left, the staff, coaches, support staff, the players and everyone we left back home, families, friends, everyone in the eastern states that support the Melbourne Demons, this is for you," Gawn said.
