The Mandurah Action Sports Games is set to feature a stella lineup of skateboarders, BMX, scooter, and freestyle motocross riders when it returns to the western foreshore this weekend.

After being postponed due to severe weather conditions back in March, the land-based events will be held over Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 at the Mandurah Skate Park.

Seven-year-old Mia Twine is amped up and ready to skate the big bowl in Mandurah and is looking forward to taking on the older girls in the Star Surf and Skate open women’s division.

Mia is an up and coming skateboard prodigy and has been skating since she was five and has developed a reputation that exceeds many pro skaters.

“I love the Mandurah skatepark and it is one of my favourites...the street section and flow bowl are amazing, but the big bowl is what I really love the most," Mia said.

“I wish this was my local park as I have spent so much time getting my parents to drive me down to Mandurah, lucky we only live in Murdoch.”

Matty Curtis from Hardwired Entertainment will bring the dynamic Hardwired Freestyle Motocross (FMX) team to Mandurah for the Apex Radiology FMX demonstration on Saturday.

The crowd is set to be wowed by some incredibly talented athletes such as Brayden Davies and Daniel Ford who will throwing down backflips and huge FMX tricks.

“We love coming to Mandurah, the crowds love their FMX in Mandurah and the boys are always keen to put on a show for them,” Curtis said.

Events Manager Tim Thirsk said Mandurah is one of the best locations in Australia to run the Action Sports Games.

“We're super excited to be hosting this prestigious event in Mandurah and to be running the skate, BMX, scooter and freestyle motocross this coming weekend,” Thirsk said.

Action Sports Games is sponsored by Mandurah Mazda, City of Mandurah, Drug Aware and Visit Mandurah.
