Mandurah City star Alex Grayson has suffered a devastating injury in their State League Night Series win over Rockingham City on Sunday.
The Dolphins defeated Rockingham 2-1, but it wasn't all good news for the side, with Grayson going down with a serious leg injury late in the match.
The club has since released a statement.
"It's unfortunate that Alex suffered a severe injury, bit it was a complete accident and no one else is to blame," the statement read.
"We're pleased to inform you that he is in good spirits and making a steady recovery, although he is still in the hospital.
"Alex wanted to express his gratitude to all those who have sent him messages since the incident occurred, and he's eagerly looking forward to catching up with everyone once he's discharged.
"In case you'd like to contribute towards any potential medical expenses, a GoFundMe page has been set up on Alex's behalf."
Mandurah City are just one win away from the Night Series knock out stages.
