Three young Peel Thunder stars are living out their dreams, selected in the 2023 AFL Draft.

Midfielder Clay Hall was the only West Aussie to remain in his home state, selected by the West Coast Eagles with pick 38.

Hall's father Derek was also drafted to the Eagles 33-years-ago.

“It’s unreal to have a bit of history there as well makes it a cherry on top,” Hall told The West Australian.

“I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity and can’t wait to get stuck in.”

The 18-year-old will join close friend  Reuben Ginbey in the blue and gold after a standout year playing for Peel Thunder and WA at the under-18 championships.

Meanwhile, Thunder ruckman Mitch Edwards is off to Geelong, selected at pick number 32.

Edwards will join the Cats, his favourite team.

Geelong Recruiting Manager Stephen Wells said the Cats were very happy Edwards was available when he was.

"We were very happy," he told Fox Footy on Tuesday night.

"All the way through the draft there were a lot of really good players available to us at each selection but when Mitch came through to us, a developing young ruckman, a wonderful player that we think is going to really add to our list of developing talls over the coming years."

The Thunder's Reece Torrent was the final selection of the AFL Draft, called out at pick 64 for the Brisbane Lions.

Lions National Recruiting Manager Stephen Conole said the 18-year-old former cricketer continued to show improvement this year going from Peel to the Western Australian State Squad.

“We are also very pleased to add another Western Australian lad to our list in Reece," Conole said.

“He is a versatile hybrid mid, who has played in a multitude of roles this season for Peel Thunder and with the Western Australian State team.

“He is a competitive lad with a powerful left foot kick who provides us with another mix to our midfield group.”
