Peel Thunder's finals hopes are still alive after a 26-point win over reigning premiers Subiaco at Lane Group Stadium in round 13 of the WAFL.

The Thunder struggled in the first three quarters, but struck in the final term sealing the 10.15 (75) to 7.7 (49) victory.

Coach Geoff Valentine said it was neck-and-neck before his side broke free.

"It was a bit of an arm wrestle there for three quarters but the boys really pulled away in the last quarter...that was as dominant of a quarter as we've had the whole year," Valentine said.

It was a must-win clash for Peel, who sit just outside the top five with only six games remaining in the regular season.

Valentine said they know they can beat the top teams.

"We're confident that our best footy is going to be good enough...it's just going to be a case of producing that when we need to," Valentine said.

The Thunder will take on Perth on Saturday, July 23 at Mineral Resources Park.
