The City of Mandurah is inviting locals to have their say on the final stage of the $22 million Mandurah Waterfront Project.
Draft concept designs for the central and northern areas of the Eastern Foreshore have been released.
This precinct includes the vicinity around the Mandurah Visitor Centre heading south through to the existing toilet block at the southern end of the foreshore.
The initial design features a welcoming plaza to the Visitor Centre, and larger alfresco areas around the businesses at the northern end of the
foreshore.
It also involves creating a play area for all abilities to complement the Koolaanga Waabiny playground on the Western Foreshore.
There will also be a shared space for events, more shelters and trees, and improved pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.

Mayor Rhys Williams said the redevelopment project had already seen the creation of the Mandurah Skate Park and recreation precinct, Koolaanga Waabiny Playground, the estuary pool and upgrades to Smart Street Mall.
“In 2018, the City engaged extensively with residents, businesses and other partners to establish the vision for the overall Mandurah Waterfront Project and it is all coming to fruition – and looking fantastic!” Mayor Williams said.
“These new areas not only look impressive and refreshed, but work in harmony to elevate the Mandurah Waterfront to the next level as a top-class destination for residents and visitors alike.
“We’re now moving into the final phase of the project with the central and top end of the Eastern Foreshore and we’re keen to hear from the community and local businesses with their feedback for this area.
“This is an exciting time for Mandurah with this final piece of the waterfront redevelopment underway and I encourage residents and the local business community to have their say on these draft designs to help us create a truly welcoming and revitalised area."

Those who would like to provide feedback face-to-face are invited to review the draft concept design and share their thoughts at this weekend’s pop-up sessions, held at the Mandurah Visitor Centre on Saturday (17 June) and Sunday (18 June) from 10am – 1pm.
