New extended trading hours in the City of Mandurah will begin on Saturday, October 1 .
Retailers will have the option to stay open until 9pm each weekday, bringing the total hours of trade from 70 to 82 hours each week.
Regional General Manager at Vicinity Centres Richard Terhorst confirmed its major retailers including Woolworths and Coles have committed to extend their trading hours at both Halls Head Central and Mandurah Forum, with many smaller retailers expected to follow as customers form new shopping habits in the City.
“We are thrilled to be officially opening our centre doors today in line with City of Mandurah’s new trading hours. The extended trading hours are a welcomed addition for retailers and customers alike, providing an added level of choice and convenience for Mandurah residents and visitors,” Mr Terhorst said.
“We anticipate the new hours will alleviate the pressure for over 123,600 Mandurah residents located within Mandurah Forum’s trade area, who no longer need to rush to the store after work in order to try to balance work and life needs. Residents can also revive their weeknight dinner plans with a number of dining options across our centres, including Mandurah Forum’s alfresco area which we anticipate will become a popular weeknight hotspot as we set into the warmer months of the year.
“Our major convenience retailers Coles, Aldi and Woolworths will be operating in line with the new extended trading hours from today and we expect our smaller retailers to also extend their hours of operation as new shopping habits are formed by our customers. We encourage our customers to check the Mandurah Forum and Halls Head Central websites for information on store trading hours, as they will be updated regularly."
Mandurah Forum retailers who have confirmed extended trade from Monday October 4, 2022:
• BigW – until 7.00pm
• Kmart – until 9.00pm
• Coles – until 9.00pm
• Woolworths – until 9.00pm
Halls Head Central retailers who have confirmed extended trade from Monday October 4, 2022:
• Kmart – until 9.00pm
• Coles – until 9.00pm
• Aldi- until 8pm (and until 9pm on Thursdays)
