Mandurah will turn up the sparkle this Christmas with a huge range of events, activities and family favourites – and an exciting new addition to the calendar.

The Christmas in Mandurah program has something for everyone, with locals and visitors from far and wide set to enjoy magical Christmas activities and events on Mandurah’s waterfront spaces.

Mayor Rhys Williams encouraged everyone to come and enjoy the magic of Christmas in Mandurah.

“Mandurah will again turn on the charm and wonder of Christmas this year, and there are so many ways to get involved in the festive celebrations,” he said.

“With something on every night in December, including the incredibly popular Lights Trail, Mandurah is cementing its spot as the Capital of Christmas. It’s the perfect time of the year to get out and about in Mandurah and support our local businesses.

“Thanks to our sponsors and partners who have come on board to help us deliver the Christmas in Mandurah program. I encourage everyone to get involved - Mandurah really is the place to be this Christmas.”

The Mandurah Christmas Lights Trail, presented by Ray White Mandurah, will light up the night from Thursday, December 1 with more than 25 installations featured along the trail stretching from Smart Street Mall over to Mandurah Ocean Marina.

The ever-popular lights trail includes favourites such as the train, Christmas tree, reindeer, kombi van and enormous Santa, plus the bright new addition of a life-sized Christmas castle for people to explore inside.

There will be photo opportunities all along the trail, including a ‘selfie’ wreath to take the perfect Instagram snap, plus other crowd pleasers
including a pirate ship, present boxes, stars, the Christmas countdown clock and sparkling Christmas trees floating in the Mandurah estuary.

Follow the Lights Trail from Smart Street Mall to the top of Mandurah Terrace, along the Eastern Foreshore and over to Mandjar Square and the Marina, enjoying a range of local cafes, restaurants and bars along the way.

The lights can be enjoyed up until Sunday, January 8, 2023 (inclusive).

While the Christmas lights are on display, there will be a number of attractions each night throughout December that the community can enjoy while out and about with family and friends.

These ‘community nights’ will include buskers, carolling, roving performers and festive activities.

Keep an eye on the City’s website and social media for all the updates.

On Friday, December 2 Mandurah’s main streets will come to life with festive cheer for the Christmas Pageant, presented by Ray White Mandurah.

The Pageant will start at 6pm, with decorated floats weaving their way along Mandurah Terrace, starting and finishing at the Cooper Street/Mandurah Terrace intersection.

The best viewing locations will be along the Eastern Foreshore, and Mandurah Terrace between Cooper and Tuckey streets.

Following the Pageant, special Christmas activities will be held on the Eastern Foreshore including live entertainment by the Mandurah Concert Band, photo opportunities with Santa, twilight markets, a petting zoo, face painting and more.

A special new event, Carols in the Park, has been added to this year’s line-up, where the community can come and join in Christmas carols and activities with family and friends.

Carols in the Park will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 5-9pm at Keith Holmes Reserve in the Mandurah Ocean Marina.

Bring a picnic or enjoy a variety of stalls with local businesses serving up delicious food and drinks.

Mandurah will again welcome the new year in style with a New Year’s Eve fireworks display on December 31, with a number of great vantage points around the City Centre.

There will be two fireworks displays to enjoy at 9pm and midnight, and Coast FM is on board to provide an epic soundtrack to the displays.
