Ice skating returns to the Mandurah foreshore from June 30 to July 16.

Tickets are now on sale for the popular event which is enjoyed by hundreds of locals and visitors each year.

The City of Mandurah has again partnered with Ice Rinks Australia and Visit Mandurah to bring ice skating back to Mandurah this year.

As well as the ice rink, there will also be an ice slide, pop-up rides, entertainment, and food and drinks served at the rink-side The Lodge Bar & Café.

The skating rink is suitable for beginners, with the ‘Kanga’ push-a-long skating aids available.

The rink is also wheelchair accessible, making it an inclusive activity that everyone can enjoy.

If skating isn’t your thing, the city will be buzzing with other free and ticketed events and attractions during winter, including fire shows and live music.

The City and local businesses are teaming up to bring the Secret Sounds of the City series back this year, with performance dates throughout June, July and August.

These events showcase local bars and restaurants, as well as an array of musical talent including country and western, local acoustic performers and motown.

Mayor Rhys Williams is encouraging everyone to get out and about and join Mandurah’s winter events, and support local businesses during the colder months.

“Our Winter in Mandurah program is designed with something for everyone in mind, and is another way for us to keep enjoying our local cafes, bars and restaurants which are typically a bit quieter during winter,” Mayor Williams said.

“All the fun of ice skating is back this year, so bring your family and friends along. Why not make a whole day or night out of it, with a bite to eat or drink afterwards and live music to enjoy.

“Last winter, close to 15,000 tickets were sold for the ice skating, ice slide and carnival rides, so make sure you grab your tickets and join the fun.”

In 2022, 26 local people were employed during the three-week event, and close to 12 local businesses were directly involved in planning and delivering the event, making it a great boost to Mandurah’s economy during the colder period.
