A local community art group has been left devastated after a fire tore through their studio last week destroying all of their artwork inside.

The fire tore through the premises on Baralda Court in Rockingham last Thursday, November 3.

The art studio was home to Mixed Pallette Inc, a local not-for-profit organisation who provide weekly workshops for artists with intellectual disabilities.

The fire caused extensive damage to the studio and destroyed everything inside including artwork, materials, equipment, and furniture.

As a result, the organisation has been forced to cancel their weekly art classes as well as their upcoming exhibition at the Gary Holland Centre, an event members have been working towards for two years.

Since opening in 2007 the volunteer run group have already relocated their studio 11 times and are now forced to start all over again.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Mixed Pallette Inc find a new studio and purchase art materials.
